About Directory Services

A directory service is a network service that stores, organizes and provides access to descriptive, attribute-based information in a directory. Information that is stored includes Users, groups, and devices.

Many vendors provide implementations. On the General Options page of the Map an Object window, the Directory Service drop-down shows a complete list of available vendors. The vendor list is comprised of the following:
