External Connection Manager

Use the External Connection Manager to complete the following External Connection operations:

• View: View a list of available External Connections.
• Create , Edit , and Delete : Configure External Connections to meet your requirements.
• Search: Use the Search Control to run a search that locates and lists all External Connections whose Display Name and Description contain a specific word or phrase.
• Organize: External Connections are organized at the root level by default scope (intended audience); however, Users can create subfolders to further organize External Connections.
• Copy: Copy an existing External Connection as a starting point or template for a similar External Connection.
• Rename: Rename a subfolder or External Connection. Users cannot rename default scopes.
• Import/Export: Import/export External Connection definitions to a .ced file to share External Connections across systems.
• Find Dependencies: Identify where the External Connection is used and what other items the External Connection uses, if applicable.

  

1. Menu bar: Displays a row of drop-down menus available in the External Connection Manager.
2. Toolbar: Displays a row of buttons for operations available in the External Connection Manager.
3. Search Control: Displays a search box to find specific words or phrases in the External Connection Manager.
4. Manager Tree: Displays External Connections in a hierarchical tree, organized by scope, and subfolder if applicable. Also lists any Searches run during the session.
5. Main Pane: Displays External Connections by View (Icon, List, or Details (Grid)) and lists search results when a Search is run.
